Schindlers Attorneys has a long association with the LifeSense Group spanning almost 20 years. When we were approached by LifeSense to collaborate with them on their WHISPA Programme, we were delighted to be offered an opportunity to actively join in the fight against gender based violence, with a trusted business partner that shares our vision and specialises in the assistance and support of survivors.
Schindlers Attorneys’ aim is to increase access to the law of survivors and their families by making information relating to legal rights and remedies easily available through the WHISPA call centre, if requested, by imparting face-to-face legal advice and counsel, in a caring and compassionate way, and thereafter, to represent survivors through the legal process, which can have potentially harmful consequences, be complex, are not women or children friendly, reproduce victimization, are overwhelming, expensive and difficult to access in general.
We believe that it is only when our police, prosecutors and courts starts to fully investigate, prosecute and enforce remedies and repatriations that we will ensure access to justice for all victims of gender based violence. By providing victims with legally correct information and other support who hope to improve the response to the needs of victims by these key role players.
